After almost 12 months of partial hibernation Battlehounds are finally releasing their debut EP Damn Demons.
Recorded again with John McNichol at Twin Earth studios in Adelaide, the EP was mixed by good friend Ali Wells at Grinch Door Records (Bad//Dreems, West Thebarton Brothel Party) with the final touches added by Joseph Carra (King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, The Peep Tempel, Bloc Party).
The five track EP is lead by single Night Crawl, a three and a bit minute, hook riddled, driving rock and roll juggernaut that lyrically recalls bad decisions and questionable company.
Uncompromising from start to finish and surrounded in grimy guitars, gristle and beer soaked vocals – Damn Demons is what will be hopefully the first in a long list of extended releases from Battlehounds, and one that looks to cement the band as one of the great up and coming Australian guitar acts.
This is a true psych rock gem. Delightful vocals, solid songwriting from begging to end, great production; And Frontal Lobe is a damn heavy track. I don't know what's going on down there in Australia but it's keeping rock alive. apocrita
